Shungite is a unique gift of nature

For quite a long time, scientists have been studying such rock as shungite. The attention of researchers is attracted by its unusual structure and incredibly useful properties. Studying the properties of this stone led scientists to the conclusion that this stone can find application in various areas of human activity and solve numerous problems, including problems associated with water purification. Shungite has a structure and composition that has no analogues in nature. The conditions of its formation are also unique. There is only one place in the world where it is possible to obtain this rock – this is the Zazhoginskoye deposit, located in Russia in one of the regions of Karelia. So far, scientists have not been able to discover other similar deposits. Shungite is a natural composite. Its basis is a non-crystalline silicate matrix, which is filled with mineral crystals. These minerals, belonging to the aluminosilicate series, fill the amorphous matrix of this rock evenly. The crystal size of aluminosilicate minerals does not exceed 1 micron. More than half of the composition of the stone is silicates.

Chemical and physical properties of shungite

Shungite equally possesses all the qualities that are necessary for a good filter element. Firstly, shungite is an incredibly durable rock with high density and mechanical resistance. Secondly, it has increased chemical stability in the presence of even aggressive impurities. In addition, this stone does a good job of destroying bacteria in water. The bactericidal properties have made it possible to use this stone in medicine to treat various diseases. No other stone has such high effectiveness in the treatment of allergic diseases, respiratory diseases, women’s diseases, as well as diseases of the gastrointestinal tract. During treatment, unique pastes are developed, and special infusions of shungite are prepared, the use of which helps not only to get rid of diseases, but also to prevent various diseases. The bactericidal properties of shungite have contributed to its active use not only for treatment purposes, but also in those areas where high-quality and stable water purification is necessary. This applies to various organic synthesis processes, catalytic processes, as well as drinking water purification processes. The most important property of shungite is that this stone can not only efficiently purify water from various types of impurities, such as alcohols, all kinds of foreign compounds, including those of wood origin, resins and gases, but also perform this work at a high level for quite a long time. for a long time. It is the ability to perform this function for a long time that has made this stone especially in demand in the field of water purification. Shungite purifies water in the following way: all organic elements are destroyed under the influence of this stone and turn into simple oxides. It turns insoluble substances, such as carbonates, into sediment in water. Thus, the water is completely purified from harmful impurities. Shungite also does an excellent job of purifying water from compounds containing petroleum products. This stone processes petroleum products no worse than activated carbon, which had no equal in this area before the discovery of shungite. When using shungite for water purification, the color of the water is completely neutralized. Also, the use of this stone allows you to neutralize harmful microflora in the water.

The use of shungite is an excellent solution for water filtration systems

The unique properties of shungite have made this rock very popular in the field of water purification. The use of this stone has become especially promising in this area due to its ability to purify water over a long period of time without deteriorating in the quality of purification. During the experiments, it was found that the use of mixtures of shungite and coal in filter systems is especially effective. Shungite, used to treat various diseases, is an ideal complement to activated carbon, which does an excellent job of purifying water from chlorine. As a result, the water becomes not only clean, but also healthy. When used in under-sink systems, the first morning portion of water, drained in a volume not exceeding 1,5 – 2 liters, has a healing effect. This is due to the fact that the formation of a water-mineral solution, which has unique healing qualities, occurs as a result of prolonged contact of water and shungite, about 10 – 12 hours. Practice shows that regular consumption of such water allows you to achieve a sustainable healing effect for diseases of the oral and nasal cavity, gastrointestinal tract and liver, allergies, etc. The Prio® Novaya Voda® company offers you to buy several types of cartridges for filtering systems of its own production in Moscow. We sell cartridges with shungite for high-performance in-line filters, for household filter systems “under the sink”, as well as cartridges for filter jugs. In our stores in Moscow and other cities, as well as in the Prio® Novaya Voda® online store, you can buy filters based on mixtures consisting of shungite and activated carbon. The Prio® New Water® company has a special certificate for the use of shungite for water purification, as well as for the sale of shungite filters. We offer you the use of a proven and effective solution in the field of water purification. Clean water is the key to your health and the health of your children!

Shungite as a filter material: what is it and how does it work?

Shungite is a rock unique in composition, structure and conditions of formation, which is developed at the only deposit in the world on the territory of the Zaonezhsky Peninsula of the Medvezhyegorsk region of Karelia – Zazhoginsky. This is an unusual natural composite consisting of an amorphous silicate matrix uniformly filled with highly dispersed crystalline particles of aluminosilicate minerals. The average size of these particles is about 1 micron. The average composition of the rocks is 30% carbon and 70% silicates. Shungite is characterized by high strength, density, chemical resistance and electrical conductivity. Shungite rocks have excellent sorption, catalytic and bactericidal properties, which are widely used in filters for the preparation of drinking water, water in swimming pools, and catalysts. Thanks to its catalytic properties, shungite is able to purify water for a long time from various types of organic substances: phenols, high-molecular fatty acids, alcohols, substances of the lingo-carbohydrate complex, wood and peat hydrolysates, water-soluble hydrolysis resins, humic substances, as well as a number of gases, destroying organic substances to elemental oxides (CO2H2O) and precipitating (70-90%) insoluble salts (carbonates, oxylates, etc.) from water. Shungite rocks are not inferior to activated carbon in their ability to purify water from oil products. When filtering through a shungite filter, the color of the water is significantly reduced and microflora is almost completely removed. The bactericidal properties of this material are unique. Infusions of water on shungite and shungite pastes have a healing effect in the prevention of a significant number of diseases common in our time: allergic, respiratory, gynecological, muscle and joint, gastrointestinal, etc.

According to surviving sources, this mineral first became known in the 16th century. During the reign of Peter I it was already used everywhere. But gradually the popularity of the breed faded, people almost stopped using it in everyday life for health purposes. The period of oblivion lasted until the second half of the 20th century, until comprehensive studies of this mineral began. It was then that scientists officially confirmed the unique healing properties of the stone. The benefits and harms of shungite for water purification will be discussed in this article.

Features and Application

The mineral has established itself as a means of effectively purifying drinking water and helping to cure many diseases. At the end of the last century, it began to be used in the production of various types of water filters.

What is it and where is it mined?

This is an ancient black rock, deposits of which are located in only one region – the Karelian Onega region. It is not possible to establish her exact age. According to rough calculations by researchers, it is more than two billion years. Shungite contains 30% ash and 70% carbon.

The stone is characterized by high strength, density, and has unique chemical and physical properties. It is very resistant to external influences, conducts electricity well and reflects electromagnetic waves. It contains more than 20 microelements that are beneficial to human health.

Operating principle

This sample of natural resources has become widespread for its sorbent qualities. Thanks to it, it is possible to remove most of the unwanted elements from the water. And also get rid of unpleasant odors, tastes and turbidity resulting from the presence of inappropriate components. When in contact with liquid, fullerene destroys harmful organic compounds and promotes the precipitation of nitrates, chlorine, metals and other elements to the bottom. It is precisely because of these abilities that cleaning with shungite is much more productive than standard filtration.

In addition, the rock has antiseptic and bactericidal properties; it is often used to cleanse the contents of wells and pools from microbes, aquatic greens and parasites. The stone is able to structure water, enrich it with valuable microelements in the proportions most appropriate for the human body. For all its positive qualities, it is inexpensive.

How to distinguish a fake

When purchasing, you should try to choose large samples. Such minerals will last indefinitely and will not cause any hassle in cleaning. Small pieces, on the contrary, will quickly become unusable and will not be able to ensure high-quality removal of impurities. It is best to purchase shungite in pharmacies. Tempted by a cheaper option from resellers, you are likely to get a fake. Very often shunginite is passed off as a real stone. Outwardly, they are almost indistinguishable, but in terms of characteristics they do not even come close.

How to determine the real breed:

  • on a matte surface without shiny inclusions;
  • fragility (it is easy to break);
  • formation of stone dust during transportation;
  • by air bubbles that float to the surface when immersed in water;
  • increased current conductivity.

Properties of liquid infused with shungite

Such healing water is endowed with the power of nature, it is enriched with minerals, purified, and is capable of changing the energy field. The action can be compared to an antioxidant. Fullerenes enhance the body’s resistance to the harmful effects of the external environment, strengthen and restore nerve cells, and increase stress resistance. Shungite water also neutralizes toxic and poisonous elements, actively protecting the liver. It is recommended to use it for diseases:

  • epidermis.

It is also very effective in the fight against allergies, anemia, diabetes, and asthmatic syndrome. In addition to all of the above, it is very useful to take baths with it, rinse your hair, and wash your face. Indoor plants, by the way, will also like it. It is important to remember that all healing properties will disappear when boiled.

Benefit and harm. It is important to know!

As already mentioned, shungite water is recommended for use for a wide variety of ailments. It has anti-inflammatory and disinfecting properties, so it effectively fights sore throat, periodontal disease and other diseases in the oral cavity. The stone contains antioxidants that are useful for preserving youth, so it is widely used for cosmetic purposes to relieve swelling and redness. It is especially useful for generally strengthening the immune system and improving the condition of diseases of the stomach, joints, diabetes and anemia.

Despite its numerous medicinal qualities, its use must be limited, since it can activate not only positive processes in the body. For example, if a person already has malignant tumors, drinking too much water can accelerate their growth and development. The possibility of allergic reactions to water therapy cannot be ruled out, although such cases are extremely rare. When starting to drink water infused with the mineral, you need to consider the following contraindications:

  • people with a tendency to thrombosis should not use it;
  • with increased acidity, it should also be abandoned;
  • Pregnant women can improve their health with such water only after consulting a supervising doctor;
  • If any alarming signs appear during therapy, it is better to stop using immediately.

It is important to remember that a pronounced metallic taste indicates an excess of minerals. This water infusion can only be used for cosmetic purposes.

How to use shungite to purify water

There are several methods for using this stone. In everyday life, you can use cartridge filters in which it is used as a filter base. Outside the city, at the dacha or on a hike, you can filter in a jug or glass jar. It is also possible to use this mineral as a sorbent for swimming pools and wells. In such cases, however, not grams, but kilograms of the substance will be required, as in food industry enterprises, where it is also actively used.

Purifying water using shungite: preparing a mineral-water solution

The purchased breed must be washed under the tap. If the pebbles are very small, a sieve or colander will come to the rescue. They must be washed for a long time and thoroughly until the flowing liquid turns out to be transparent. Particularly large samples should be pre-sanded with sandpaper, this will extend their service life. Any suitable container is suitable for making the infusion. However, it is better to use glass containers; they will not affect the quality characteristics of the contents being cleaned.

To prepare, take 1 g of the substance per 100 liter of water. It is important to remember that this mineral does not have emollient properties. Therefore, you need to take pre-filtered water. It is not recommended to tightly close the jar; the finished tincture should be used for no longer than three days. Once every month and a half, shungite must be cleaned of contaminants. Small rock samples should be changed every six months.

If the shungite infusion becomes cloudy or has a harsh taste, it means:

  • a fake was purchased;
  • it was washed lightly;
  • sealed too tightly;
  • they held it longer than the allotted time, or vice versa – they didn’t hold it enough;
  • took the basis of inadequate quality.
