The city of Osinniki took its name from the Shor ulus Tagdagal, which translates as “Ulus on the aspen mountains.” The first Russian settlers translated the name of the ulus in their own way and began to call it Osinovka. On December 4, 1938, the workers’ village of Osinovka became the city of Osinniki, Novosibirsk Region. With the separation of the Kemerovo region from the Novosibirsk region in March 1943, the city of Osinniki became a city of regional subordination to the Kemerovo region. Osinniki are located in the south of Kuzbass at the confluence of the Kandalep River with the Kondoma (tributary of the Tom, Ob basin) 332 kilometers from the regional center – the city of Kemerovo, 25 km southeast of Novokuznetsk. History
