Anyone can take the tour. Ticket offices No. 4 and 5 are located near the squat Kutafya Tower. Tickets are sold from 9:00 to 12:00 and from 13:00 to 16:30.

On the official website of the Diamond Fund you can make a reservation in advance for 1-4 tickets. They must be purchased no later than one hour before the start of the excursion.

From the ticket office, tourists walk about 300 m to the end of the Alexander Garden.

Excursion program: what will be shown

Visitors are asked to arrive at the exhibition 10 minutes before the time indicated on the ticket. Before entering, tourists are checked through a metal detector. Phones, photographic equipment and video cameras must be checked into the cloakroom.

The exhibition occupies two halls; visitors are allowed here only with a guide. The tour lasts 45 minutes. The group stays near each object for approximately 2 minutes. Foreigners can use an audio guide and listen to the tour in their native language.

Royal regalia

The sight of the treasures stored in the fund is impressive. During the tour, the guide talks about Russian coronation regalia. Royal crowns are displayed in the windows. The large imperial one, made for Catherine II, surprises with the number of diamonds. Nearby you can see a small crown, a scepter, and a golden orb.

Tourists are then led to gold and platinum nuggets. These are very rare exhibits. Among the largest are the gold nuggets “Big Triangle” weighing 36 kg and “Camel” weighing 9,3 kg.

Part of the exhibition is dedicated to diamonds. A map of the Russian Federation is laid out from rough precious stones. The largest diamond, over 342 carats, was found in 1980 in Yakutia.

It is very interesting to look at the great stones of Russia – 7 precious stones, 3 diamonds and 4 gems. The huge Orlov diamond has 190 carats and adorns the scepter of Queen Catherine II. Many legends are associated with the 88-carat Shah diamond, which was discovered in India. There are inscriptions in oriental languages preserved on the stone.

Then tourists are led to the decorations of the mid-15,5th century. Among them are many diamonds made in the shape of flowers. For example, a XNUMX-carat lilac diamond, which was used to decorate the “Big Bouquet” of Catherine II. It is interesting to look at jewelry from the second half of the XNUMXth century made from white diamonds.

Russian orders are displayed in separate display cases, including the first order in our country established by Tsar Peter I, dedicated to the holy Apostle Andrew the First-Called. Tourists are shown rare gems. The most valuable is tourmaline in the form of a berry, which was presented to the Russian Tsar in Burma.

The works of jewelers of the early 19th century and modern authors were made specifically for the state repository, so they are distinguished by the highest quality and craftsmanship. The platinum “Russian Beauty” tiara, which is decorated with many diamonds and pearls, looks especially majestic.

Standard – 800 rubles, preferential (pensioners, military personnel, large families, preschoolers, schoolchildren, students of secondary vocational and higher education) – 100 rubles.
