What does a dolomite plant produce?

In 1931, with the launch of the first shaft kiln with a capacity of 10 thousand tons per year of lime, the foundation was laid for the industrial production of products of great economic importance and the development of the village of Ruba.
Since then, production capacity has begun to increase annually. In 1936, the second shaft furnace was put into operation with a capacity of 12 thousand tons per year. Geological exploration work carried out in 1930 and 1934 confirmed significant deposits of dolomitic limestone and the prospects for the development of the plant.
In the mid-30s, the first steam excavator appeared in the Ruba quarry, which moved along a specially constructed railway in the quarry and carried out stripping work. The excavator bucket capacity was 0,5 cubic meters. Removal of soil from overburden operations was carried out using a narrow gauge steam locomotive operating on a railway track laid parallel to the path of the excavator. By 1941, lime production at the plant had increased tenfold. But further development of production was prevented by the treacherous attack of Nazi Germany. In the post-war period, enormous efforts were made by workers to quickly restore industry, including at the lime plant. In 1948, the shaft furnaces were restored and put into operation. In 1952-1953 In Ruba, on the right bank of the Western Dvina River, three more shaft furnaces with a capacity of 10 thousand tons each were built.
Due to the fact that the main raw material base for the plant in Ruba was a quarry on the left bank of the river, and the kilns were built on the right bank, closer to the railway line that connected Ruba with the Vitebsk station in those years, limestone was supplied from the quarry to the right bank plant using an aerial cable car. This road was in operation until 1977. With the commissioning of the bridge across the river, the road was dismantled, and the supply of raw materials began to be carried out by road transport. In 1953, in order to increase the level of mechanization of the technological process, increase labor productivity and output volumes, a crushing and screening shop was built at the lime plant in Roubaix, from where the prepared raw materials of the required fraction were supplied to lime kilns.
In the fifties, there was a rapid process of increasing the technical equipment of production. Diesel and electric excavators and dump trucks are appearing in quarries. In the early 60s, Belarusian agronomists developed forms and methods of combating to reduce the acidity of podzol soils in Belarus. The most effective remedy was dolomitic limestone, crushed to a fraction of less than one millimeter.
Dolomite chips, which until 1960 were of no value for the building materials industry, have turned into a valuable component for soil deoxidation and, along with other mineral fertilizers, have taken their rightful place in Belarusian agrochemistry. In the mid-60s, the construction of the first plant for the production of pulverized limestone flour with a fraction of about 1 mm, with a capacity of 1 million 100 thousand tons per year, began in Ruba. In 1967, the first stage of a limestone flour plant with a capacity of 550 thousand tons per year with a grinding fineness below 1 mm was built and put into operation.
In connection with the commissioning of the first stage of the plant, the limestone plant in Ruba is renamed the Vitebsk Lime Materials Plant. In 1971, the construction of the first plant for the production of pulverized limestone flour with a fraction of about 1 mm, with a capacity of 1 million 100 thousand tons per year, began in Roubaix.
In the early 70s, intensive construction of the Gralevo quarry began; the raw material base required a significant increase in the volume of raw material production. The annual productivity of the quarry was determined according to the initial project of 5-6 million tons of raw materials per year. In accordance with the decisions of the XXV Congress of the CPSU, construction of 3 workshops for the production of dolomite flour began in Roubaix. In December 1977, two technological lines were put into operation, and exactly a year later three more technological lines for the production of limestone flour, with a total capacity of 2200 thousand tons per year.
In May 1978, by order of the Ministry of Construction Materials Industry of the BSSR, the Vitebsk Lime Materials Plant was renamed VPO Dolomite. In the 70-80s, along with the development of production and a large influx of labor, the construction of housing and social facilities increased significantly. In the village of Ruba, beautiful multi-storey residential buildings, kindergartens, a service center, and industrial and utility buildings appeared. Already in 1975, in a cozy place on the banks of the Western Dvina River, its own sanatorium began to function.
With the commissioning of the third workshop, the design capacity of the association increased to 5,5 million tons per year, and the production of limestone powder in 1979 amounted to 4 million 900 thousand tons per year. In 1979, the construction of a Palace of Culture with 500 seats and an engineering and laboratory building began, the construction of a health center, an administrative building for the quarry management and a repair area for mining equipment was completed. Almost two thousand workers worked in the workshops and services of the association.
By 1990, the production volume of pulverized flour amounted to 5,5 million tons per year. The enterprise team has implemented all available opportunities to increase the quantity and quality of products. Since March 1995, VPO Dolomite has been transformed into an open joint-stock company Dolomite through corporatization. Currently, pulverized dolomite products are produced in production shops No. 5 and No. 7. The main production base consists of 11 independent technological lines, each with a design capacity of up to 440 thousand tons per year.
The technological process of dolomite processing consists of primary and secondary crushing, combined drying and grinding (to a fraction of 0-1 mm) in Aerofol autogenous mills and hammer mills, catching the finished product in cyclones and electric precipitators, transporting products to silos using pneumatic transport and mechanical transport.
To ensure high-quality and efficient grinding, drying of the feedstock, which has a natural humidity of 6-9%, is required, which is carried out by hot gases from technological furnaces. Previously, M 100 fuel oil was used as process fuel. Since 2000, the enterprise has been switched to burning natural gas, which has reduced production costs, improved the environmental situation at the enterprise, and opened up prospects for the introduction of gas turbine units to generate its own electricity and use waste gases as a drying agent in dolomite flour production technology.
The enterprise is equipped with a production laboratory that carries out incoming inspection, quality control of semi-finished and finished products, and control of sanitary conditions at workplaces, industrial sites and villages. The entire technological process is automated. The introduction of automated process control systems made it possible to maintain strict control over the amount of transported raw materials, ensure maximum loading of grinding equipment and stabilize the operation of production lines in the optimal, most economical mode. For achievements of high performance in the implementation of state plans, VPO “Dolomite” was awarded three times the challenge Red Banner of the Central Committee of the CPSU, the Council of Ministers of the USSR, the All-Union Central Council of Trade Unions, the Central Committee of the Komsomol with inclusion on the All-Union Board of Honor at the VDNH of the USSR In 1975, limestone flour was awarded the state quality mark For achieving the best results in producing products of the highest quality category, the team of VPO “Dolomit” was awarded more than five times with diplomas from the All-Russian Central Council of Trade Unions and the USSR State Committee for Standards For labor valor, the staff of the VPO “Dolomit” was awarded a Certificate of Honor from the Supreme Council of the BSSR For the achieved indicators in the all-Union public review of the efficiency of the use of raw materials, materials, fuel and energy resources, VPO “Dolomit” is awarded the Certificate of Merit of the USSR Ministry of Transport and Industry of Moscow. The team of the VPO “Dolomite” was repeatedly awarded the challenge Red Banner of the Vitebsk Regional Committee of the Communist Party of Belarus, the team was awarded memorable certificates from regional authorities We sell a wide range of high-quality non-metallic products We sell a wide range of high-quality non-metallic products President’s portal

Good afternoon)) My husband and I decided to change the façade and immediately decided that we would cover it with siding. The choice of siding is huge; for a long time we didn’t know what to choose. On the advice of friends we decided on Dolomite. We thought for a long time, we were afraid to make a mistake, we read the reviews and characteristics. On this site we used the designer, a very convenient program, and selected the siding to match the color of the roof. As a result, we ordered siding in Rostov-on-Don, dolomite in the warehouse. I’ll say right away that we got it right with our choice – the quality is excellent, I was pleased with the texture of the slabs, we chose Slavyanka brick. My husband is happy too, the installation was simple (my son and I did it in 3 days). The house now looks great, the neighbors are surprised how we managed to cover it with bricks so quickly)) Thanks to the Dolomite company for its products.

Good afternoon Two years ago I decided to update my hair salon. In the store, my eye immediately fell on dolomite; there really are a lot of options. I liked the rocky reef collection. The installation was cheap, the workers completed the sheathing in a day, so I didn’t lose any clients. In two years I have not noticed any changes in the color of the siding; everything looks very beautiful and stylish. Thank you!

Hello. It’s already been a year since I covered the entire house with Dolomite siding. The siding looks very neat. I noted the advantages for myself: it looks beautiful and expensive in appearance, the price is quite low; easy to assemble, the slabs are light – the foundation does not sag. Very easy to clean. I didn’t find any cons. I’m happy with everything, I recommend it!

Hi all! There are a lot of companies producing siding. When we were choosing siding for our house, we immediately identified the criteria: average price, unusual color – I wanted something that wasn’t boring, quality of the panels. We came across this site by accident. The “bamboo” collection looked very fresh and suited our oriental style patio. So the choice was obvious – Dolomite. Moreover, the production is here in Kuban. Here, the question arose of how to bring the material home. We don’t have a personal car; we live far from the address of the store that was on the website in Krasnodar. But we saw that there is an online store and delivery throughout the city. We ordered it right away. Delivery is fast, everything was delivered. Although we were a little worried, this was our first time ordering. In general I recommend

Hello! We bought a house in the suburbs. The cladding is brick, but rather shabby. We decided to change it, but calculated the budget – there is not enough money for a brick. We began to look for options. About 3 years ago we covered the balcony with dolomite siding, we liked everything. We decided to cover it this time too. The store recommended a new product – Dolomite thermal siding, and was surprised by its characteristics and price. We found out that it can be fastened without lathing, which means we’ll spend even less money and time. I decided to order. In general, the house was sheathed, the installation was very quick and convenient, the quality was decent. We are waiting for winter to check how it saves heat. Although the house is noticeably warmer now. I recommend
