All this indicates the rapid development and use of various materials for this purpose, including precious metals and stones. Purpose of the work: to identify the reasons and significance of the use of precious metals and stones in medicine. Objectives: to study the specific features of these materials and the possibilities of their medical use. Materials and methods: Internet resources, teaching aids, laboratory studies. Conclusions: Precious stones are widely used in surgery, dentistry and pharmacology. For example, diamond is used in the manufacture of surgical instruments, which are actively used in ultra-precise operations. Artificial sapphire is used to make braces. Pearls are known in the pharmaceutical industry as a source of calcium. Amber is used as a source of vitamin BXNUMX. With the development of science and technology, their properties and application possibilities began to be studied in more detail, which led to the creation of new methods of treatment and diagnosis. Today, precious stones and minerals are used in various fields of medicine, such as surgery, dentistry, cosmetology, neurology and others. They are used to make implants, instruments, prostheses, as well as means for cleaning and regenerating body tissues. In addition, they serve as the basis for the production of drugs with a wide range of effects – from pain relief to strengthening the immune system and fighting cancer.

Nephritis

We are talking about the use of minerals in medicine – we mean jade first of all. And this is not without reason. For many hundreds of years, this mineral has been used in Chinese medicine to treat various diseases, and today it is associated specifically with the healers of the Celestial Empire. When the Spanish colonizers arrived in Central America, they noticed that the local peoples used a special stone that they carried in pouches on their lower backs. They believed that this stone helped with pain in the side – in the kidney area. Ancient doctors believed that jade helped with renal colic, relieved liver pain and could be useful for migraines or eye diseases. It was also believed that water that was in contact with jade strengthens muscles and bones, and also purifies the blood. Even teeth could be treated with jade, making fillings from it. Today, jade is most often used in massage techniques, especially facial massage. Jade rollers, rollers, and plates are used in the so-called gua sha massage to give the skin a toned shape and healthy color. Jade heats up slowly, which makes it possible to effectively combat swelling.

Turquoise

Turquoise (from the Persian “firuze” – “stone of happiness”, or the Persian “piruz” – “victory”) is a mineral whose color can vary from sky blue to dark green. Previously, turquoise was used in medicine to diagnose a patient’s condition. The patient was given a stone in his hand, and if it darkened under the influence of elevated temperature or profuse sweating of the patient, this was an indication for further treatment. The Zhud-shi, a medical treatise summarizing the thousand-year history of Chinese, Tibetan and Indian medicine, also states that turquoise relieves heat in the liver, treats poison and counteracts its poisonous effects. Healers prepared medicines containing turquoise powder, which was considered an antidote to scorpion stings and an effective remedy for pain caused by “evil spirits.” Avicenna said that turquoise strengthens eyesight. Looking at turquoise in the morning or applying it to the eyes is useful for people with overtired and inflamed eyes; it can strengthen and improve vision. Turquoise ointment treats cataracts, restores pupil color and improves night vision. Today, such radical methods of treatment, of course, are no longer used. However, one cannot but agree with Avicenna’s opinion – you can look at turquoise endlessly, and its rich blue hue will undoubtedly give its owner peace and balance.

Diamond

Diamond is a mineral, one of the most durable on earth, known for a very long time. In ancient medicine, it was believed that the energy of diamond is very subtle, powerful and feeds the heart, brain and the entire subtle (etheric) body with its vibrations. In treatment, diamond was used as a rejuvenating agent. Its subtle vibrations stimulate and rejuvenate the heart, have a beneficial effect on the functioning of the entire nervous system, and stimulate brain activity. It was believed that a diamond in a ring strengthens the entire body, protecting its owner from disease. With the development of industry and medicine, the unique properties of diamond have found their application in a variety of industries. Diamond coating of surgical equipment allows you to make the thinnest and most precise incisions, which allows you to perform operations on the most important human organ – the heart. Of course, everyone knows that diamond powder is indispensable in dentistry, since only this hard mineral allows you to effectively and delicately work with hard tooth enamel. In the 1980s, a new procedure appeared in cosmetology – diamond dermabrasion. This is a type of hardware peeling that allows you to polish the skin with a minimal degree of trauma and remove any imperfections from the surface.

Pearl

Pearls are a valuable natural source of calcium, highly in demand in the pharmaceutical industry. Its composition is naturally balanced and includes more than 30 microelements, such as calcium carbonate, conchiolin and a number of important amino acids. This cocktail is absorbed by the body with maximum effect. Pearls are contained in many medications for the treatment of osteoporosis, periodontal disease and caries. In cosmetology, preparations based on pearl powder are used. To do this, pearls are processed and crushed. The uniqueness of this powder lies in the fact that it is used as an anti-inflammatory agent, to restore metabolism, strengthen the cardiovascular and musculoskeletal systems, improve vision, detoxify, improve the composition of the blood and cleanse it.
