The expert will tell you about the stone, and you will decide whether a document is needed. Is it possible to examine only one stone in a product? Yes, it’s possible. An examination with an oral consultation can also be carried out for individual stones in the product. When preparing a written document, all precious stones in the product are examined. How does an expert opinion differ from a certificate? The information about the gemstone is identical in both documents. The certificate is issued only on the basis of Russian state standards (GOST) and state-registered standards of organizations (STO), the certification procedure is more complicated and longer according to the regulations. Certificate data is entered into the Federal Register of Certificates. According to the legislation of the Russian Federation, a certificate is needed to sell a precious stone (diamond, ruby, sapphire, emerald) to an individual. The expert opinion is issued in both Russian and English. It is faster and easier to do, but it is not a certificate under any circumstances. Accordingly, under the law, it is impossible to sell an unmounted diamond, ruby, sapphire or emerald to an individual with an expert opinion. How can I tell if I have a diamond or another stone? Without equipment and experience, it is impossible to reliably distinguish a diamond from an imitation. If you need to test a gemstone, we recommend that you contact a gemological laboratory. How long does the examination take? The examination of one product or precious stone takes 1-4 hours, depending on the complexity. The document is processed within 1-2 days. How to determine the weight of a gemstone? The weight of gemstones is determined using high-precision scales and computer modeling. You can estimate the weight by the cut and diameter of the stone. In our conclusions, stones and products are described in Russian and English. You can easily compare the data when purchasing a stone in the document you have, since the conclusions from the IGL contain a set of characteristics similar to the conclusions of such laboratories as GIA, HRD, GRS, Gubelin, GIT and others. IGL conclusions meet all international standards and contain complete information about your jewelry, and are also recognized by many foreign participants in the jewelry market.
